Opserō is the Latin word meaning ‘to sow’. It characterises the intention to nurture life, given the necessary care, optimum environment and sustenance to thrive. This is analogous with our health, acknowledging personal intentions, individual needs and self-care measures needed to flourish.
I was drawn to complementary medicine out of pure fascination in the healing power of nature, which I observed while working in apothecaries and natural therapy centres, over many years in both Australia and the United Kingdom. I subsequently began formal training across various disciplines of both Eastern and Western traditions, broadening my knowledge base and world view through a pluralistic lens.
I hold a BSc (Honours) in Western Herbal Medicine and MSc in Psychology from the University of Westminster. I have completed further training in Endobiogenic Medicine, a systems physiology model that regards neuroendocrine management of the terrain as a determinant of disease. I am a certified Health and Wellbeing Coach, and have trained in Ayurvedic Medicine with the Ayuskama Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine, India, focusing on preventative therapeutic and management approaches.
My aim is to relieve suffering in individuals who seek natural non-invasive methods, with the intention to offer clarity - where confusion, absence of knowledge or attachment are precursors of imbalances or disease. This entails a collaborative exploratory process supported by pragmatic solutions and the necessary care to enhance an individual's capacity to live a fulfilling and enriching life.
More broadly, I am committed to mitigating injustices regarding over-medicalisation of society, dehumanisation in healthcare and the commodification of health. As such, I am a proponent of bodily sovereignty, health liberty and patient advocacy.
